Had a sleep in this morning as it’s our last day at Kings Cross. How we
will miss walking up three flights of stairs and not lugging our suitcases up
the stairs. When we were leaving we took one suitcase and Elizabeth stood guard
at the bottom of the building. I returned to get the second suitcase and while
Elizabeth was waiting she heard a regular thumping, meaning that I had either
lost control of the suitcase or I had developed a new technique. She was
probably relieved to see a girl come down the stairs in flip flops. Our
skilled taxi driver got us to the Victoria Coach Station. We negotiated
ourselves to catch the bus but the screen shot I had was insufficient so we had
to get a ticket printed off. In the end it was no problem and because we had
arrived in plenty of time we still caught our planned bus but the ticket is
flexible.
In light rain we arrived and eventually found our way to The Buttery
Hotel. The stairs are a little narrow but
it is very centrally located. We only have to walk 10 minutes in any direction
to find all the important attractions. Unfortunately we have three flights of
narrow spiral stairs to negotiate which makes us wish ironically we were back at Cartwright
Gardens. The red door is the entry.
