DAY 37 9 JULY Torresmolinos, Costa del Sol.

Today we explored Malaga, the birth city of Picasso and visited the Castillo de Gibralfaro with its small military museum and resident squirrels.

The original alcazar was further down the slope but with the invention of gunpowder, a new castle (Castillo) with connecting walls was constructed. We visited one of five museums across the world dedicated to Picasso, but this one is sited in the town of his birth, in fact in the building where he was born.

Actually his father was a talented artist and Picasso himself even more so.  His father did specialise in painting pigeons!

Here Elizabeth sits with Picasso, touching him in his special spot - Malaga, with his museum in the background.

Malaga is also the home town of Antonio Banderas.  Apparently he owns the entire top floor of one of the apartment buildings, overlooking where we had a wine tasting.  We were hoping to see him maybe going out for a  bottle of olive oil.  "Antonio!...come out..."
