Day 94 24 June Bruges

This morning we were the only ones in the breakfast room where you can enjoy all the usual breakfast fare but included raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, cherries, strawberries but we have not been tempted to use the chocolate fountain!

Today was another full day by walking to the Minniwater which is a delightful park and water area that is full of swans and ducks.  After that it was off to the Picasso Exhibition with examples of Renoir, Matisse and Rodin. I understand cubism a bit better now. I don't like it but i do understand it. Next it was the Archaeology Museum which was interestingly done and kids would have really liked it.  As for adults it was just passable.

Our next adventure was the Boat Cruise with a funny guide. He counted 31 passengers and a dog but he said if we were all Japanese we could fit 45 on.  It was a nice trip.  After this it was off to a Salvador Dali exhibition which was way out man!

The next visit was to a Church with the only Michelangelo’s sculpture outside of Italy - Madonna.
Diamond Museum which was interesting and we saw a cutting/polishing demonstration.  The funniest thing was this one non-English speaking woman who essentially was concerned that her diamond ring was not genuine.  They could test it but we unfortunately did not see the post-script to it.

St John’s Hospital Museum had some lovely altar pieces. We saved something like 35% using the Bruges card rather than paying separately.  We still didn’t see everything but we went close.
