Day 18 London 4 May 2018

Well its laundry day but we still managed to fit in; St Paul’s Cathedral, Bank of England and The Globe. We couldn’t take photographs inside the cathedral but it was very impressive inside and in an impressive but tasteful bling.  Many famous Britons are commemorated here, but not necessarily buried there. The two most important ones perhaps were Nelson and Wellington.

We had to go to The Bank of England because we had out of date currency, they have replaced the 5 and 10 pound notes. We had to wait almost an hour outside in the hot sun before we got into the actual bank. All in all it was about an hour and 15 minutes, OMG what an ordeal.  They have new notes as a counterfeiting measure.  We hope to spend all our large denominations first as they are likely to replace them in future as well.

We stopped for lunch and had an opportunity to go through the museum at The Globe.
