Leaving Rome, we made our way to Assisi, an Italian adjective
describing “driving and parking gridlock”.
Obviously with a long weekend all the locals decided to visit. It was bedlam. It was nice to see where St
Francis lived but it was impossible to get a sense of atmosphere in his tomb when
you are in the company of a small city.
There were a lot of shops, DFO for Catholics... and sorry...but wherever
we go there are tourist shops and not just a few - a lot. The panorama shot is from the Men's Room and it only cost .5 Euro.
We arrive to stay in Florence at Palazzo Ricasoli.
Our tour guide Giovanni escorted us into town and showed us some of the places
to go Europeans really like carousels
apparently. We saw a really gaudy one in
Assisi that was decorated in particular with Assisi views and now another one
in Florence. We sat and ate calzones on
the Piazza – yummy!
